How to use Google Cloud Print

You can print using a Canon printer for Google Cloud Print, for its easy use, follow the procedure described below. In Google Cloud Print, you can easily print from wherever you like using a PC, smart phone or other PDA type.

What to do – Outline
You need to perform the following to use your Canon printer for Google Cloud Print:
1. Prepare the following:

  • Google account information (Your e-mail address and password to log in Google.)
  • Printer Supporting Google Cloud Print
  • PC, smart phone, or other types of PDA connected to the Internet
  • One sheet of A4 plain paper

2. Check the printer connection environment. The printer needs to be connected to the Internet via an access point or router.
3. Register the printer to Google Cloud Print.

Preparing the items required
To use the printer for Google Cloud Print, you need to register the printer to Google Cloud Print.
Prepare the following:

  • Google account information Your e-mail (Gmail) address and password to log in to Google. If you do not have them, you have to create your own account. To create an account, access to the Google Accounts page, or click [CREATE AN ACCOUNT] in the upper right corner of the Gmail: Email from Google (Google log-in) page.
  • Printer
  • PC, smart phone, or other types of PDA The PC, Smartphone, or other types of PDA needs to be connected to the Internet (including via the 3G line).
  • One sheet of A4 plain paper

Set up Google Cloud Print

If your Canon wireless printer says that it is Cloud ready, follow the directions from your printer manufacturer.
If your printer does not say it’s Cloud ready, follow the steps below.

  1. Turn on your printer.
  2. On your Windows or Mac computer, open Chrome.
  3. At the top right, click More and then Settings.
  4. At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.
  5. Under “Google Cloud Print”, click Manage.
  6. If prompted, sign in with your Google Account.
  7. Select the printer you want to call, then click Add printer (s).

The printer is now associated with your Google Account and connected to Google Cloud Print. You can print to this printer from any device you sign into your Google Account.

Print from a standard printer
To set up your printer, follow your printer manufacturer’s instructions.

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. Open the page, image, or file you want to print.
3. Click File and then Print. Or, use a keyboard shortcut:

  • Windows & Linux: Ctrl + p
  • Mac: ⌘ + p

4. In the window that appears, select the destination and change any print settings you want.
5. When ready, click Print.

Print using Google Cloud Print with Computer

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. Open the page, image, or file you want to print.
3. Click File and then Print. Or, use a keyboard shortcut:

  • Windows & Linux: Ctrl + p
  • Mac: ⌘ + p

4. In the window that appears, click Change to choose your Google Cloud Printer.
5. Change any print settings you want.
6. When ready, click Print.

If you’re using your Chromebook at work or school, your network administrator might connect one or more printers for you.

Print using AirPrint
To print from an iPhone or iPad, use AirPrint.

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app.
2. Open the page, image, or file you want to print.
3. At the top right, tap More and then Share.
4. Select Print.
5. Select Printer Options and choose your settings.
6. When ready, tap Print.

Print using Google Cloud Print with Android
To print from an Android device, you’ll need to set up Google Cloud Print on your Google Account. Or, you can install a printing app on devices with Android 4.4 and up.

1. On your Android device, open the Chrome app.
2. Open the page, image, or file you want to print.
3. At the top right, tap More and then Share.
4. Select Print.
5. At the top, select a printer.
6. Change any print settings you want by tapping the Down arrow Down Arrow.
7. When ready, tap Print.
